Description

Instructor will teach a small group of students seeking to improve their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills. College has curriculum materials to support instructor in teaching the class. Candidate should be comfortable working with adult students with differing ages, skill levels, and backgrounds.

*Scheduled Hours: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons, 3:30 PM until 5:30 PM

*Classes will be held at PRC Industries, Spruce Pine


Primary Duties

• Facilitates individual and group instruction activities to help adult learners improve their English skills
• Delivers engaging instructional activities and lessons for adult learners
• Discusses and helps set appropriate academic goals with each student
• Maintains accurate records and related paperwork to be submitted to the office in a punctual manner
• Sustains positive, professional relationships and communication with students as well as college staff
• Communicates effectively with the administrative team in person, through email, and by telephone
• Participates in staff development sessions, trainings, and other college functions as appropriate
• No outside class duties required

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate”s degree preferred
• Working knowledge of personal computers and related software (email, web browser)
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Considerable discretion in the handling of confidential information and sensitive materials
