Responsibilities:
  • Provide legally mandated services to identified Multilingual Language Learners (MLLs).
  • Conduct small group instruction and collaborate with general education teachers.
  • Work with school administrators to implement school policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with students' parents, guardians, and/or caregivers.
  • Design and implement direct MLL instruction.
  • Collaborate with teachers to provide English language support in other content areas.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of grade-level content curricula.
  • Plan, prepare, and facilitate daily standards-based lessons.
  • Differentiate curriculum and instruction for all MLLs.
  • Manage regulatory and instructional requirements as an MLL Specialist.
  • Administer Home Language Questionnaires and ACCESS assessments.
  • Use assessment data to refine curriculum and instructional practices.
  • Evaluate and track the progress of individual MLLs.
  • Maintain MLL records.
  • Advise teachers on curriculum modifications for MLL students.
  • Foster an inviting, growth-oriented classroom environment.
  • Implement a rigorous, inquiry-based curriculum aligned with national standards.
  • Cultivate higher-order thinking skills in students.
  • Utilize assessment data for targeted interventions and personalized instruction.
  • Develop strong student and family connections.
Qualifications:
  • A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (required).
  • New Jersey State ESL/ELL teaching certification (required).
  • Spanish language proficiency (required).
  • Experience leading students from diverse backgrounds preferred.
  • A dedication to providing an inspiring and joyful learning experience.
  • A confident and enthusiastic commitment to the educational mission of the school.
