Role Breakdown:
Collaborate actively with classroom teachers to embed English language support throughout various subjects, ensuring a cohesive learning experience. Tailor individualized lessons to address the unique needs of English Language Learner (ELL) students, providing targeted instruction in both one-on-one and small group settings. Foster an inclusive and welcoming classroom environment where students feel valued and encouraged to participate fully. Implement and uphold clear behavioral expectations that promote a respectful and focused atmosphere conducive to learning. Evaluate student progress consistently, using assessments to refine teaching strategies and optimize language development. Develop and deliver instructional plans that align with school and state standards, effectively advancing ELL students” language acquisition and overall academic success.

RequirementsAll candidates must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an ESL endorsement and have experience as an ESL teacher or in a related instructional role. A strong background in working with students from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds is essential. A bachelor”s degree from an accredited institution is required, while a master”s degree in TESOL or a related field is highly preferred.
