Bilingual Workforce Instructor

Department: Workforce & Adult Education
Reports to: Director of Workforce & Adult Education FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervises: 0
Annual Salary: $51,000
Summary: The Bilingual Workforce Coach/ Instructor will be responsible for empowering individuals by providing both English language and digital skills instruction to diverse groups within our community.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Workforce Coach:
  • Deliver integrated workforce services, including skills assessments, job readiness training, retention support, and financial coaching.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching on job search, resumes, interviews, career development, and financial literacy (budgeting, credit, savings).
  • Track participant progress, manage data, and ensure compliance with record-keeping standards.
English Language Instruction:
  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for learners of varying proficiency levels, fostering a supportive environment.
  • Collaborate with the team to adapt curriculum and integrate real-life contexts into lessons.
  • Assess learners” progress and provide constructive feedback to improve language skills.


Digital Skills Instruction:

  • Deliver digital skills lessons in English and Spanish, creating an inclusive and engaging learning space.
  • Collaborate with the team to customize curriculum and provide individualized support.
  • Use assessments to track progress and enhance both language acquisition and digital competencies.


Individualized Instruction & Community Engagement:


  • Tailor instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, providing additional support when needed.


  • Participate in community events and outreach programs to promote educational services.


  • Collaborate with local organizations to strengthen program impact and resources.


Outcome Tracking & Professional Development:
  • Maintain accurate participant data, document outcomes, and track monthly/quarterly progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching and coaching skills.
  • Ensure alignment of services with organizational goals and perform other duties as assigned.

  • Learner Outcomes: Participants' progress in English, digital skills, and goal achievement.
  • Engagement: The level of participation and connection you build with learners during sessions.
  • Data Management: Accuracy and efficiency in tracking individual progress and maintaining records.
  • Personalized Coaching: The quality and effectiveness of your 1-on-1 coaching sessions.
  • Community Impact: Involvement in outreach efforts and the visibility of the program in the community.
  • Professional Development: Your ongoing growth as an instructor and coach, applying new skills to improve your work.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Education, Teaching English as a Second Language (TESOL), Digital Literacy, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and certifications.
  • Previous experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or English as a Foreign Language (EFL) and digital literacy.
  • Bilingual, must be fluent in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and other digital tools.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic educational environment.
  • Ability to work with community partners and advocate on behalf of underserved populations.
  • Ability to work in a non-judgmental manner with a diverse range of people, maintaining a respectful and inclusive culture.


Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.

This job requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk.
