JOB SUMMARY:
Greensboro College is hiring adjunct instructors in the Office of International Programs for their continuing education courses in English language development. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, and attendance tracking. The instructor will work closely with the director of International Programs for the benefit of the program and students.

JOB SUMMARY:
Greensboro College is hiring adjunct instructors in the Office of International Programs for their continuing education courses in English language development. The Adjunct Instructor is responsible for course preparation, delivery, and attendance tracking. The instructor will work closely with the director of International Programs for the benefit of the program and students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Initially and continuously assess student goals.
- Use goals and outcomes of the course to create lesson plans that are engaging and applicable to the reason that students are learning English.
- Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments throughout the course.
- Work with multi-level students with differentiation as needed.
- Meet every scheduled class for the entire scheduled time, except for approved absences with advance notice.
- Create a student-centered classroom with varied activities that are appropriate for adult learners.
- Use materials and resources appropriate for adults.
- Incorporate the life experience that learners bring to the classroom.
- Complete all attendance and grading recordkeeping on time and with accuracy.
- Create and maintain a positive learning atmosphere, fostering an atmosphere of respect for all cultures.
- Establish a connection with students for communication outside of the classroom, such as WhatsApp, text group, and/or email group.
- Use online resources for a repository of materials so that students can access materials outside of the classroom.
- Meet with and communicate with director and other team members as needed.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor”s Degree, ESL training, and ESL teaching experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master”s Degree in TESOL or closely related field.
- One or more years of experience teaching ESL in an adult education program.
