Vista College is currently hiring for an Adjunct TOEFL Instructor. This Instructor must be available 3 consecutive hours a day for four days a week for eight weeks to deliver live Zoom sessions.

We are hiring experienced, dynamic, and engaging instructors who have a strong interest in teaching TOEFL preparatory class. The position requires professionals who can demonstrate a strong work ethic and candidates interested in training on the TOEFL program. Preference is given to candidates with a flexible schedule.

Qualifications:

TOEFL Instructors: BA/BS degree in English equivalent (Advanced degree is preferred) and nine semester credit hours or twelve quarter credit hours in the subject area to be taught, plus three years of related experience. All experience must be attained within the ten years immediately preceding employment by the school. TEFL, TESOL, or CELTA certification required.

• Prior experience of teaching/training

• Proven experience in creating a dynamic and interactive classroom experience

• Other preferred qualifications:

• Native English speaker or advanced academic proficiency in English
• Teaching Certificate
• Solid computer skills and ability to use online Learning Management System (Canvas)
• Personal experience in taking the TOEFL exam or familiarity with content areas

Candidates are expected to:

• be energetic and engaging • have excellent presentation skills • moderate meaningful classroom discussions to generate critical academic thinking • prepare lesson plans according to syllabi • maintain a classroom atmosphere free of any form of discrimination toward gender, race, ethnicity, ability or sexual preference. • maintain accurate record for daily attendance and student performance • test, evaluate and provide - feedback to students regarding their academic performance and goals • develop knowledge related to all aspects of the TOEFL including knowledge of the test format, etc.
