Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children whose first language is not English?

Long Term Futures are currently seeking an EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teaching Assistant to join the dedicated SEND team in an inclusive Secondary School.

The successful applicant will work in a designated centre for students working at age related expectation, focusing on interventions for those who need support with English language acquisition. You will help students develop their language skills and support them during lessons, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum.

The Role:

Supporting Key Stage 3 and 4 students with EAL needs, helping them access the curriculum.
Lead targeted interventions, helping students improve their language skills.
Create a nurturing and inclusive environment that promotes engagement and learning.
Implement individualised learning plans as directed by the class teacher and SENCo.
Support children in accessing lessons and developing their English language skills.
Monitor and record student's progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and SENCo.
Who we are looking for:

Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification or an EAL related qualification.
Experience working with children with EAL needs.
Understanding of language acquisition strategies.
Knowledge of the UK secondary age curriculum.
TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualification is desirable.
Bilingual candidates who speak Urdu, Romanian, Punjabi or Polish would be highly beneficial for this role.
