The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for part-time English as a Second Language instructors for in-person classes taught in Dover, New Jersey.

SEIU 32BJ is a service union that represents cleaners, maintenance workers, service staff, and security officers in the New York City area and nine other states on the East Coast. Part-time English as a Second Language Instructor
The 32BJ Training Fund is seeking qualified candidates for part-time English as a Second Language instructors for in-person classes taught in Dover, New Jersey.

Who we”re looking for:
- Creative, dynamic teachers with good interpersonal skills who enjoy working in diverse linguistic and cultural settings.
- Teachers looking to empower workers through industry skills education.
- Proof of COVID vaccination and booster required. See below for further information.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, adapt, and implement lesson plans aligned to the program curriculum and incorporate the provided educational materials.
- Teach English conversation skills through a student-centered teaching approach.
- Maintain and submit records of attendance.
- Maintain ongoing communication with supervisor.
- Participate in relevant professional development activities, as available.
Qualifications:
- MA in TESOL, TESL, TEFL, or CELTA
- Minimum of 4 years teaching experience
- Proficient English speakers with strong knowledge of English and language use.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with students from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
- Ability to use digital platforms to instruct, communicate, and record program data.
COVID-19 Considerations
- Record of completed COVID-19 vaccine or confirmed medical/religious exemption required.
- Compliance with current COVID-19 protocols of the organization.
Classes Offered
- Saturdays, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm, starting immediately through spring 2024.
- Opportunities to substitute at other locations possible

Compensation:
- $40 per teaching hour
