Job Summary:
ESL Program Support/Teacher will play a crucial role in supporting our English as a Second Language (ESL) program, helping students develop their language skills, and ensuring success in a multicultural and diverse environment. The ESL Program at CCANO is designed to empower individuals from diverse linguistic backgrounds to acquire and improve their English language proficiency. Whether the client is a newcomer to the English language or seeking to enhance their existing skills, the ESL Program offers a comprehensive and supporting learning environment.

Whether the client is a newcomer to the English language or seeking to enhance their existing skills, the ESL Program offers a comprehensive and supporting learning environment.
Duties/Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and adapt ESL curriculum materials, lesson plans, and resources to meet the needs of diverse community learners.
- Offer one-on-one or small group support to teachers who require additional assistance in language or technology development.
- Work closely with staff and teachers to align ESL instructions and classes.
- Stay updated on the latest ESL teaching methodologies, trends, and research to continually improve teaching skills.
- Maintain and follow up accurate records of student's attendance, assessments, and progress, to provide necessary reports to the Program's Director and the Language Access Programs Specialist.
- Maintaining consistent communication with ESL site facilitators, Immigration and Refugee Services case managers, and Program Directors to provide and share relevant programmatic details, such as assessment, enrollment, and expansion information.
- Providing data reports and analysis to the ESL Program Director for grant proposals and grant reporting
- Performs other related work as assigned.
- Develop tutorials for teacher's professional development.
- Update ESL and Citizenship flyers on a regular basis or for specific events.
- Site Facilitation duties, online and in person as needed.
Physical Requirements:

- Must be able to lift fifteen pounds at times.
- Physical Demands: Sedentary physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of an administrative nature.
- Stand less than 33% of time on duty.
- Walk less than 33% of the time on duty.
- Sit between 33% and 66% of time on duty.
- Use of hands to finger, handle or feel over 66% of time on duty.
- Reach with hands or arms less than 33% of time.
- Full ability to talk and hear.
- Correctable vision required.
- Able to lift/carry up to 10 lbs.
Minimum Educational and General Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education or related field, preferred.
- ESL teaching certification is preferable (e.g., TEFL, CELTA, TESOL)
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse student populations.
- Proficiency in the use of educational technology and digital resources.
- Bi-lingual (English - Spanish) candidates are highly preferred. Proficiency in Arabic, Haitian-Creole, Burmese, or other languages is valued.
- Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills, including maintaining effective work relationships.
- Strong organizational skills, and ability to work across all levels of management and staff.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all case and client information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Experience with CASAS eTests and WorkReadyU client database is a plus or must be willing to learn the database/software.
- Ability to work some evenings.
- Have reliable transportation.
- New employees will be required to complete a criminal background check prior to employment.
