POSITION: PART-TIME ADULT EDUCATION SUBSTITUTE GED & ESL INSTRUCTOR - Hall Campus
REPORTS TO: Adult Education Instructor
HOURLY RATE: $20.00 per hour
EFFECTIVE: Position is available now
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under general supervision, is responsible for classroom instruction and evaluating students' progress in attaining goals and objectives. This position is a temporary teaching position and is based on student enrollment each term. It does not include any benefits or a promise of future full-time employment. This position is available at the Hall campus 9 a.m. - 12 noon AM Tuesdays and Thursdays.
MAJOR DUTIES:
- Responsible for carrying out the teacher's lesson plans in basic language arts, reading comprehension, math, etc. while the Instructor is absent to the adult education students;
- Evaluation of students' progress in attaining goals and objectives, as needed
- Participates in staff development and staff meetings as required
- Assists with post-testing, as needed
- Follow curriculum and College and Career Readiness Standards (training provided)
- Complete reports accurately and timely, as needed
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere in the classroom
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of a Bachelor's degree in Education or closely related field from an accredited College or University
COMPETENCIES:
- Skill in the use of computers and job related software
- Skill in oral and written communication
- Skill in interpersonal relations
- Ability to adapt instructional material to fit all learning styles
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Knowledge of effective instructional methods for adult learners
