YWCA Tulsa is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instructional Coach and Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supervision of English for speakers of other languages instructional team including hiring, curriculum development, classroom observations, teacher training, and mentorship. Work closely with the program manager to plan class offerings, curricula, schedules, and other activities in alignment with guidelines of federal grants; analyze and utilize program data for program improvements; and work across the agency and with partners to strengthen student offerings and program outcomes

Requirements
Instructional Coaching and Supervision
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise instructional team.
- Use teacher goal setting and classroom observations to develop action plans for teacher development and ensure compliance with grant guidelines.
- Provide one-on-one feedback sessions regularly.
- Monitor teachers” instruction to ensure that all necessary skills and content are taught
- Ensure that students' progress through the program”s curriculum with an emphasis on community engagement, job readiness and career development.
- Coach teachers in building an interactive classroom based on ESOL strategies and techniques, use of technology and online/computer-based curricula.
- Ensure recommendations for teacher improvement are implemented.
- Coach teachers in understanding and utilizing student and assessment data to inform and support instructional planning.
- Develop and provide professional development activities, training and demonstration lessons for instructional staff in areas of need to enhance the program's quality.
Curriculum and Program Design
- Work with program staff to choose and develop curricula to align with grants, student needs and program goals. This can include work-site English classes, English for specific career pathways, career exploration, and others.
- Work with the job developer to identify employment opportunities within the community that match English Learners” interests and abilities.
- Work with program manager and Case Management team to identify employers to host work-site English classes.
- Develop and maintain workforce partnerships to ensure students have access to a variety of community resources for the purposes of improving student employment outcomes.
- Program Management
- Work with the program manager to establish schedules, monitor enrollment, and make necessary adjustments.
- Work with program staff to regularly analyze and utilize assessment data to improve the focus of instructional planning, student achievement, and guide current and future programming.
- Assist with setting program goals consistent with agency expectations, grant opportunities and data.
- Assist with assessment protocols and making recommendations for continuous improvements.
- Collaborate across YWCA programs to implement new programs and meet student needs.
- Assist in promoting Immigrant and Refugee services and classes in the community through presentations and other outreach efforts, as needed.
- Stays abreast of current workforce research and best practices for ESL instruction.
- Attend professional training in a Train the Trainer role to present to teachers and staff.
- Substitute for other teachers when necessary, depending on availability.
- Attend required departmental meetings and participate in YWCA meetings/functions as needed.
- Adhere to all requirements of program grants including government and state agency requirements pertaining to Adult Education and Family Literacy grants.
- Comply with all YWCA policies and procedures, and program procedures as set forth in the Language Services Handbook.
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to fluently understand, speak, read, and write English.
- Effective oral and written communication skills, especially as required for teaching, preparing and making presentations, working with various committees, and interacting with diverse groups of internal and external contacts.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment within established guidelines.
- Must be an advocate for the mission and vision of the YWCA.

- Current Oklahoma Driver”s license and current insurance verification.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor”s degree required, master's degree preferred.
- Oklahoma state teacher certification or TESOL/TESL certification required.
- At least three years of ESL teaching experience. Experience with Integrated English classes preferred.
- Prior successful experience as an instructional coach, curriculum facilitator, or mentor teacher.
- Basic to intermediate competency in Microsoft Office and Outlook computer programs;
- Adept in use of educational technology; i.e., Zoom, interactive whiteboards, webinars, websites and online tools and resources.
- Some knowledge and experience in curriculum development preferred
