Role: EAL (English as an Additional Language) Teacher
Location: Slough
Start Date: 2nd September
Salary: £[Salary Range] per day
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and qualified EAL Teacher to work with students for whom English is an additional language. This role is based in [City/Town], with a start date of [Start Date]. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting students in their language development and helping them achieve academic success.
The Role:
As an EAL Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering targeted English language instruction to students whose first language is not English. You will work closely with classroom teachers to identify students' needs, develop personalized learning plans, and monitor progress. Your goal is to help students overcome language barriers, enabling them to fully engage with the curriculum and school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement effective EAL programs tailored to the individual needs of students.
Provide one-on-one or small group instruction to support language acquisition.
Collaborate with subject teachers to integrate EAL strategies into classroom teaching.
Assess and track student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to meet language development goals.
Create a welcoming and inclusive learning environment that fosters confidence and encourages participation.
Support students in accessing the broader curriculum and school activities.
Work with families and caregivers to provide additional support and resources for students' language development at home.
Essential Requirements as an EAL Teacher:
Relevant UK teaching qualification, such as a PGCE with QTS, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent.
Experience working with EAL students in an educational setting.
Strong understanding of language acquisition and strategies to support EAL learners.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
In possession of an Enhanced DBS or willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
