RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching Undergraduate Courses in Education:
- English Language Learner Course Offerings :
- ELL 304 Structure of Modern English
- ELL 315 Descriptive Linguistics
- ELL 343 EL Methods and Materials
- ELL 353 EL Curriculum Design
- ELL 393 EL Assessment
- Teach curriculum aligned with InTASC, TESOL, and ORU standards and English language learner best practices
- Teach through in-person instruction
- Assist students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes
- Provide consistent and quality feedback to students
- Engage students in the learning process through hands-on and inquiry-based teaching methods
- Maintain an accurate and current grade book
- Communicate with students regularly through Brightspace
- Collaborate with full-time faculty to ensure cohesion across the ELL program
- PED 475, 434 Student Teaching Fall/Spring
- Oversee ELL pre-clinical and clinical assignments
REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Minimum requirement:
- Hold a Master's degree in the English Language Learner field
- Experience teaching P-12 (minimum of three years required)
- Experience using Brightspace or other LMS
Preferred
Experience in teaching at the higher education level
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong pedagogical content knowledge and skills
- Supervision skills of internship candidates
- Knowledge of integration of technology skills during classroom teaching
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and database software programs required
- Demonstrate excellence in teaching
- Show commitment to integrating coursework into the learning process
