Examples of Duties
Reports to the Assistant Director of Grant Program Operations; provides
instruction for ESL as directed. Uses effective teaching methods focusing on
reading, writing, listening and speaking skills from beginner to advanced students;
ability to use various teaching formats including worksheets, and online content;
responsible for monitoring and submitting daily sign-in sheets and other required
forms in support of the program and documenting the progress of the students;
performs related duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Bachelor's degree. Teaching background in English as a Second Language or
Adult Education Reading. Strong computer skills with the ability to assist
students. Ability to provide instruction using online textbook platform; Ability to
follow a lesson plan. Strong interpersonal skills and aptitude to work with people
in diverse populations. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to
work with all levels of the organization, internal and external groups, including
students, program team.
Supplemental Information
This is a part-time, grant-funded position working up to 26 hours per week. This program is scheduled to end on June 30, 2025.
This position may require flexible scheduling to include evenings and weekends and duties at any Atlantic Cape location.

Eligible part-time employees will be enrolled into the DCRP (Defined Contribution Retirement Plan) pension (https://www.nj.gov/treasury/pensions/pension-active-dcrp.shtml) . Employees contribute 5% of their base salary and the college contributes 3% of base salary. Investment options are managed through Prudential Retirement. Life insurance benefits through DCRP are payable to the beneficiary at 1.5X the member's salary.
