QUALIFICATIONS:
JOB GOAL: Responsible for teaching language development curriculum to English Language Learners at varied stages of language acquisition.
PERFORMANCE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instruct students in ESL classes. Assist general and special education teachers with lesson planning and curriculum development for Multilingual Learners. Administer annual ACCESS testing to students and assess new students enrolling in the high school. Complete and maintain all required district and state paperwork related to Multilingual Learners. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities. Create positive educational climate for students. Meet course and school-wide student performance goals. Participate in ongoing professional development. Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year. Maintain grade books. Utilize various curriculum resources. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare and distribute required reports, based on collected data. Observe and evaluate student performance. Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: School Year
SALARY AND BENEFITS: Per Teacher Contract
EVALUATION: Principal/ELL Coordinator
- Massachusetts Licensure in English as a Second Language Required
- Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree Preferred
