MPI are currently recruiting for a fully qualified Supply English Teacher for our client in Cosford,
This position is for Bank Cover so when our client is short staffed due to staff absences and or holiday, you can be called upon to step in and carry out the training.
£30.00 per hour PAYE
Details of the role listed below are for someone in the full time permanent ,role but you will be required to carry some of these duties out, even if Bank Cover.
The Role
The purpose of this role is to:
• Deliver outstanding general and technical English lessons through an exceptional student experience leading to positive achievement outcomes.
• Undertake a range of administrative and development duties that contributes to improving students' skills, abilities, confidences, achievements and progression.
Main duties and responsibilities
The successful applicant will be expected to:
To provide quality English lessons to students whose first language is not English.
To be prepared to work in a military environment.
To be able to communicate effectively with students and team members.
To work to flexible deadlines.
To be prepared to write reports on students at short notice.
Contribute to the English Language Training team through an enthusiastic, dedicated and pro-active approach, utilising a proven record of innovation and teaching experience.
Demonstrate an understanding and sensitively for the needs of your students to support their progression and achievement outcomes.
Apply differentiated and engaging teaching, learning and assessment strategies to enable students to achieve their potential.
Through a well-organised manner regularly review and monitor student's attendance, targets and progress and follow up as required to ensure students achieve their potential.
Monitor students' progress through core duties including initial diagnostic assessments, ILP's, student profile contribution, preparation, marking, effective feedback, tracking progress, exam preparation and supporting appropriate intervention.
Evaluate and assess (formative and summative) the work of students in relation to the curriculum criteria and provide timely constructive and helpful student feedback.
Maintain quality systems related to the teaching of general and technical English including designing work schemes, lesson plans, assessment plans and assessment activities.
Attend meetings and contribute to the continual quality improvement mechanisms, including IV and standardisation.
Develop quality and innovative resources (including e-resources) which support the development of general and technical English learning and assessment.
Prepare and enter students for exams in a timely basis.
Share in responsibility for ensuring good standards of student's behaviour and take appropriate disciplinary action when liaising with course tutors.
Person Specification
Possess a teaching qualification, e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE or DTLLs, or a firm commitment to achieve a Diploma in Education and Training (DET) - Essential with Cert
Possess an appropriate degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject or an appropriate Level 3 qualification - Essential with Cert
Relevant teaching experience in EFL/ESOL - Essential Application/Interview
Experience of working within a post 16 setting - Desirable Application/Interview
Possess a proven record of innovative, engaging and student centred teaching, learning and assessment practice, which enables all students to progress - Essential Application/Interview
Good communication & interpersonal skills at individual and group level - Essential /Interview
Experience of monitoring students individual progress with a pro-active approach for support and intervention, including differentiated teaching - Essential Application/Interview
Ability to work as a team member contributing to the development of teaching and learning strategies - Essential / Interview
Ability to work on own initiative and manage varied workloads effectively - Essential / Interview
Willingness to participate in a very comprehensive staff development programme - Essential / Interview
An understanding of and commitment to diversity and equality of opportunity - Essential / Interview
Knowledge, commitment and understanding of their responsibilities relating safeguarding, Prevent, diversity and equality of opportunities and health and safety relevant to the post - Essential / Interview
