:
The main function of an English Language Institute Instructor is to help students improve their receptive (reading/listening) and productive (speaking/writing) abilities in English. The ELI offers classes to high beginner (CEFR A2-B1) and Intermediate (CEFR B1-B2) learners. Classes typically run four days/week for approximately 2.5 hours of instruction per day.
Instructors in the English Language Institute should be able to maintain regular attendance, monitor and record student progress, and use provided instructional materials and frameworks to design differentiated lessons with clear communicative goals in mind.
ELI Instructor positions are "continuous recruitment." We accept applications year-round and reach out to qualified applicants when the need for an instructor occurs. All English language Institute positions are temporary and part-time (under 29 hours/week). Applicants should be willing to work a minimum of 10 hours a week. The English Language Institute offers day, evening, and weekend programming for students. Additional programs may be offered. Your specific working hours will depend upon your availability and the hours when the program needs coverage.
