The teacher is an indispensable member of the ABE/ESL team and is responsible for providing educational instruction for the benefit of all students. Teachers also assist with registration, testing and attendance. All ABE/ESL teaching positions are part time. Evening hours are available.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate's Degree is preferred.
- Teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction assistance for students in a live classroom setting.
- Provide equal services to all individuals without regard to gender, religion, national origin, orientation, or handicap in compliance with Great Basin College and NSHE policies.
- Collaborate with supervisor and teachers to deliver instruction that meets the language acquisition needs of students in class.
- Assist with orientation, registration and testing.
- Record student attendance and track student outcomes.
- Understand that student learning and accomplishment is the mission of the ABE/ESL program.
- Take a major role in the retention of students. This may include telephone or personal advising of students to help them eliminate barriers that may be preventing them from attending class.
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings and in-service trainings.
- Convey by words and actions the values expected by GBC.
