Primary Purpose:

Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subjects/level assigned

Valid Texas Bilingual certificate

Special Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of subjects assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Sheltered Instruction experience preferred

Experience:

At least one year of student teaching or approved internship

Experience in working with Bilingual and ESL students

At least two years of teaching experience

Working Conditions:

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent standing, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small stacks of textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Texas Certified EC-4 or EC-6 Bilingual Generalist or EC-4 or EC-6 Generalist with Bilingual Supplemental Endorsement or ESL. Includes Alternative Certification Programs Interns eligible to be hired.
