Qualifications: 1.ESE educator's license, TESOL certification required 2.Experience teaching ESOL to adults and differentiating instruction based upon students' needs 3.Familiarity with the MA DESE College and Career Readiness Standards for Adults and the MA English Language Proficiency Standards 4.Experience developing curriculum, scope and sequence, units and lesson plans for ESOL classes as well as for workplace education classes
Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Plan, organize, and provide instruction in English that is meaningful and that assists students to become literate and obtain the knowledge and skills necessary for employment and economic self-sufficiency 2.Address all aspects of communication through appropriate instruction that develops each student's ability to read, write, speak and listen 3.Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate student gains and use data to inform instruction; refer students experiencing difficulties to appropriate support staff 4.Maintain required students' records
5.Serve as a resource for other staff members by:
6.Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging nstructional strategies and digital literacy 7.Develop and deliver contextualized curricula to meet the needs of employers 8.Serve as a member of the Program Development Team 9.Evening and morning hours required
Reports to: Coordinator of the Adult Learning Center

- Suggesting and sharing innovative approaches to curriculum and instruction which will assist students in attaining a secondary school credential and in the transition to postsecondary education and training
- Advising the ALC coordinator as to needed changes in policy, procedure, and curriculum to better meet the needs of the ALC students
6.Provide a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages student responsibility and incorporates challenging nstructional strategies and digital literacy 7.Develop and deliver contextualized curricula to meet the needs of employers 8.Serve as a member of the Program Development Team 9.Evening and morning hours required
