The Hourly Range: $58.44 - $93.43

Doctorate Range: $68.87 to 95.89

(2021-2021 Certified Part-time Instructor/Overload Hourly Salary Schedule)

Personnel new to the District are limited to a maximum 10th step placement based on previous experience: $90.73.

Benefits

With the exception of Workers' Compensation benefits; this classification is not eligible for District paid benefits.

Position Summary Information

Scope of Assignment

Under the general supervision of the Division Dean for the discipline, the successful applicant will provide lecture and/or laboratory instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, and class schedules; evaluate progress of students; advise students concerning educational matters, and perform other related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Master's degree in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis OR bachelor's degree in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate AND master's degree in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech, or any foreign language OR the equivalent.

Experience teaching college

Teach lower division college courses in the subject listed; preparation of materials; grading student work; maintaining an effective classroom environment and workspace.
