Join National Heritage Academies (NHA) as an English Learner Specialist supporting our East Michigan, Indiana, and Wisconsin schools. This position will report directly to the manager of English Learners on the Curriculum and Instruction Team and will be responsible for supporting schools with supplemental coaching, modeling, and professional development around effective EL programming.

  • Collaborate with school leadership to observe, model lessons, and coach EL instruction in NHA K-12 schools
  • Create and provide supplementary professional development for EL and core content teachers
  • Research and promote best practices in effective EL programming
  • Support staff as they set professional goals as well as individual student goals which correspond with the school's improvement plan and formative assessment data
  • Maintain and enhance current projects

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education is required, Master's degree in TESOL or ESL endorsement preferred
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience
  • Experience supporting Multilingual Learners
  • Experience presenting to adult learners
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Must live in East Michigan
  • Ability to travel to Michigan schools and outside of Michigan as required
