"Job Title: Aide- Bilingual Wage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Principal Pay Grade: 2 Dept. /School: Campus Days: 187 Supervises:
Primary Purpose: To assist the teacher in carrying out the prescribed program for each student. Qualifications:Education/Certification:
Ability to meet the No Child Left Behind requirements: Associate's Degree, 48 Semester hours, or Academic Assessment. (PAT) High School Diploma or GED.
Special Knowledge Skills:
Fluency in English and Spanish. Proficiency in computer technology. Ability to communicate and work with parents. Successful experience in working with students is preferred.
Experience:
Major Responsibilities and Duties:Assist the classroom teacher with the instruction of students in both languages, individual and small group instruction is recommended. Assist the teacher in the planning and preparation of instructional activities and materials. Work cooperatively with other school personnel in the program in developing, implementing and assessing the program. Attend in service sessions as deemed necessary. Assist the classroom teacher with the preparations necessary for administration of assessments, the initial administration, scoring and documenting of test results are the teacher's responsibility, the aide may assist with end-of-year testing. Assist in room and material maintenance; perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or school principal. Supervisory Responsibilities:Working Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
