PURPOSE OF JOB: To facilitate communication with and support multilingual families enrolled in Kansas City Public Schools by managing supplemental LSCE assigned staff. This includes coordinating with district entities and community agencies to provide supplemental assistance, such as interpreting and translating services, counseling, parent education classes, and staff development on issues such as culture and trauma-informed care.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Length of work year: 260 days; 7.5hrs/day, 5 days/week
Benefits: Health and Dental Insurance are provided.
KCPS Defined Benefit Pension plan - mandatory 9% contribution is required from employee and matched by KCPS; Voluntary retirement savings plans are also available.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate with other inter-district departments and sites such as Exceptional Ed, Students in Transition, Transportation, and Communications to acclimate and engage EL families to
- Provide professional learning, support, and advocate to build capacity around the needs of
- Hire, manage, and supervise assigned personnel, conduct annual performance appraisals, and make recommendations for appropriate employment.
- Coordinate with necessary staff to schedule and plan parent orientations, meetings, and events
- Develop and coordinate partnerships with external community organizations and agencies to ensure the provisions of supplemental services
- Compile, analyze, monitor, and disseminate LSCE data to stakeholders using various metrics to monitor and track including but not limited to; refugee, immigrant, and migrant data for state reporting purposes.
- Coordinate and track EL liaisons engaging students, parents, and families in the school
- Oversee and ensure EL data accuracy in the student information system upon
- Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Yes MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- BA in Education, Social Work, Communications, Public Relations, or a related
- 3 or more years of experience supervising
- Effective interpersonal skills with knowledge of cross-cultural dynamics
- Strong organizational skills and time management
- Reliable transportation
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters in Social Work or related field
- Bilingual in target language (Spanish, Burmese, Karen, Swahili, etc)
