Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Teach assigned course(s) as specified in the course schedule and contract.
- Guide students to succeed through personal instruction and intellectual inquiry.
- Prepare and distribute to students a complete and comprehensive syllabus as per institutional guidelines for every course taught.
- Undertake and monitor initiatives to improve student learning.
- Respond to student work, communications, and requests in a timely manner.
- Maintain a positive, productive, and respectful classroom environment.
- Communicate, collaborate, and coordinate work with colleagues in a timely manner
- Complete assigned or accepted responsibilities, including routine administrative tasks, with accuracy and attention to detail by established deadlines.
- Comply with all institutional policies, requirements, and procedures.

Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited institution with at least 18 graduate credit hours in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field, such as English, Education, Reading, or Language Arts, is required; terminal degree is preferred.
- College-level teaching experience preferred.
- Director or coordinator experience in a college level program preferred.
- Experience with SEVIS regulations preferred.
- Candidates with a bachelor's degree and work experiences that are equivalent to the minimum educational qualifications may be considered.
Physical Demands
- Stamina to teach classes as required.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended time periods.
- Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to engage in effective interactions with students, employees, alumni, and other stakeholders, including individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
- Ability to think critically and solve problems independently.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Ability to work effectively and independently in a remote teaching environment with minimal supervision.
- Ability to provide an unwavering example of professionalism.
- Working knowledge of Google Workspace preferred.
- Working knowledge of Brightspace or an equivalent learning management system required.
- Ability to successfully complete the MVC Online Masterclass (applies to online instructors only).
