Adjunct Faculty - ESL Instructor (Adult Ed Program)

General Information & Responsibilities

Black Hawk College seeks adjunct/part-time Instructors for the Adult Education (non-credit) English as a Second Language program. Instructor will provide English language and cultural instruction.

Openings available at the Adult Learning Center located in Rock Island, IL and the Outreach Center in East Moline, IL.

Pay is commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum starting pay for Adult Education Adjunct Faculty (as of Fall 2024)
Bachelor's Degree = $25.97 per contact hourBachelor's +15 Degree = $28.14 per contact hourMasters = $30.30 per contact hour

Description of Duties

Using a provided curriculum, faculty member is expected to encourage learning by preparing appropriate lessons and/or activities to enhance the students” educational experience; evaluate students” performance; and maintain classroom records, equipment, and instructional materials.

Education & Experience

Bachelor”s degree required. Previous teaching experience or experience with ESL learners preferred.
