CCRI Division of Workforce Partnerships is seeking qualified applicants as part-time ESOL instructors for in person classes on Providence and Lincoln campuses. We accept applications on an on-going basis and will contact qualified candidates as course availability opens. Workforce Partnerships currently has openings for part-time instructors to teach:
The non-credit English Language Studies (ELS) program at CCRI assists individuals who need to begin or expand their English language skills in order to succeed in their studies and careers. Students come from a wide range of countries, educational levels, and language backgrounds. Focus is given to developing integrated skills in reading, writing, listening, and speaking.

- Level 1 on Monday/Wednesday in Providence

- Engage in high-quality language instruction in a diverse, inclusive, student-centered environment
- Ability to work with students with various learning styles, cultures, and life experiences both online and in person.
- Prepare effective lesson plans and provide supplemental material to achieve course objectives and address student needs
- Integrate technology and active learning strategies to enhance instruction
- Keep detailed and organized records of students' attendance, assessments, and progress, including a final evaluation
- Collaborate with the coordinator and other instructors in the program and attend meetings as needed
- Demonstrate a commitment to professional development in adult education
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in TESOL, Education, ESL, or related field (Masters preferred)
- Relevant teaching experience in an education setting; experience teaching oral communication classes
- Curriculum/course development experience with a demonstrated high level of preparation and attention to detail
- Deep understanding of oral communication challenges for adult students
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching
- Strong computer skills and comfortable with technology and course management systems • Knowledge of successful strategies for classroom management, especially in terms of linguistically and culturally diverse student
- Excellent written and oral communication skills • Proficient in the use of technology, including Microsoft Office Suite applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, primarily), email, the internet for instruction and program purposes
- Creativity and flexibility in the classroom is expected
