Description

The Education Department of Iona University is seeking an individual at the rank of Clinical Faculty beginning in the Fall 2024 semester. The successful candidate will have expertise in Special Education and a demonstrated commitment to Social Justice. Mathematics, TESOL, and/or Bilingual Certification preferred.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be expected to:
  • Teach 24 credits, or three to four courses per semester, during the academic year.
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in their areas of expertise in a variety of formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online).
  • Engage in departmental service and/or service to the university as required.
  • Assist in data collection and reporting on behalf of the Department as needed.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Earned doctorate degree in special education, curriculum and instruction, teacher education, or a related field.
  • Teacher certification in Special Education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience teaching in PK-12 schools.
  • Experience working on social justice and/or DEIB initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Mathematics, TESOL, and/or Bilingual Certification.
  • Experience teaching at the university level.
  • Experience with educational technology.
  • Experience with online learning environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to student success and standards-based assessment.
