Required Education: An Associate's degree from an accredited college or university and professional experience
Required KSAs: Candidates must have good instructional techniques; computer knowledge; student-centered attitude; and must be well organized.
Required Licenses or Certifications: Willingness to become WRU certified instructor within one year of employment
Preferred Experience: Bi-lingual or multi-lingual; experience working with adult learners (over age 18)
Passing pre-employment criminal background screen is required as a condition of employment.

Location - Campuses are located in Houma, Schriever and Thibodaux, 50 miles southwest of New Orleans.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional/Teaching Performance
- Provide academic differentiated instruction ensuring high quality deliver of instruction within the classroom
- Provide instruction to basic, intermediate, and advanced English Language Learners in reading, writing, listening, speaking, and civics to transition to postsecondary and/or workforce.
- Use formal and informal means of assessments to check for student understanding and mastery of content.
- Utilize innovative, effective, and equitable teaching techniques
- Maintain time on task
- Meet deadlines related to this function
Instructional Development
- Create weekly lesson plans for review based on student data and learning plans
- Incorporate employability skills and contextualized instruction into weekly lessons in order to promote and encourage students to seek post-secondary education and/or a sustainable career
- Align lesson plans to English Language Learning standards in accordance with all required policies, procedures, and assessments
- Participate in curriculum meetings
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
Instructional Management
- Maintain appropriate student records, i.e., grades, attendance, placement, completion, and licensure statistics (if applicable), etc.
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
School or Classroom Management
- Practice appropriate safety precautions
- Maintain student discipline
- Responsible for accurately maintaining required student records and attendance
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
Student Guidance/Advising Activities/Student Mentoring
- Serve special populations
- Make appropriate referrals to students with special needs
- Maintain appropriate number of students in class and in program
- Correspond with students as needed in a timely manner
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Meet individually with students to determine skill level, industry experience, and education/training needs
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
College and/or Community Services
- Participate in recruitment activities, i.e. career fairs, etc.
- Attend and participate in professional development and re-deliver when necessary
- Clearly communicate pertinent information, policies, and procedures to and from the site team per Fletcher WRU administration if and when applicable.
- Ensure all incidents are reported to supervisor and are documented properly
Provide service to the college that may include some of the following activities:
- Sponsor student organizations
- Conduct or coordinate teaching consultant activities
- Facilitate workshops
- Teaching consultant activities
- Provide routine equipment maintenance
- Initiate and write new program proposals
- Provide service to the community that may include:
- Participate in health fairs
- Participate in charity or community activities
- Participate in community organizations, i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, Lions Club, Boy Scouts, 4-H Club, etc.
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
Professional Activities, Leadership, and Service
- Participate in professional development activities that may include:
- Complete coursework or degrees
- Membership in professional organizations
- Present a paper or facilitate a workshop at a professional conference
- Exemplify Leadership role on Fletcher or LCTCS Committees, Faculty Council, etc.
- Meet all deadlines related to this function
