Job Summary

Adult Ed ESl Instructor is a Part-time position with 12-24 hours per week, Monday-Thursdays, Day and Evening assignments. *Immediate need for evening instructors in the Newport Mesa Union School District area. Desirable: Previous experience teaching ESL or English. Personal qualities which will enable him/her to manage required duties and which will result in an effective rapport with students. Sincere interest in Adult ESL learners and a desire to guide and encourage their education and language acquisition. Must be willing and able to utilize latest technology resources (internet, SMARTboard, Teams, etc.) to present instruction for both in-person and online students. Major Duties: • Provide effective instruction in assigned ESL level classes utilizing adopted curriculum. • Utilize the appropriate instructional techniques, activities and materials which will adapt the curriculum to the needs of pupils, provide hands-on interactive lessons, and be consistent with school and district goals. • Establish and maintain standards necessary to preserve a suitable learning environment. • Perform basic student attendance accounting, textbook accounting, and testing as required by staff rules or established procedures.

Credential Requirement: Designated Subjects: ESL, Single Subject Credential with CLAD certification, or Multiple Subject Credential with CLAD certification. If you are completing a credential program and your credential has not yet been issued, you will need to: Create a document, name it CREDENTIAL. Write an explanation indicating that your credential has not yet been issued but has been filed for. Save the document as a pdf. and upload it to your scanned documents for submission with your application.
