Adjunct Faculty - Candidate Pool (2023-2024 Academic Year)

DESCRIPTION:

Our adjunct faculty application is open to all disciplines and while we may not have an immediate opening, we appreciate your submission for future needs. To apply, please complete the online Adjunct Faculty - Candidate Pool application. Upon completion, you will automatically receive an email confirming your submission.

The applicant's information is placed into a "pool," this means no employment process will begin until an adjunct faculty need exists. Divisions have direct access to the applicant pool and will use the pool to identify, interview, and hire adjunct faculty members when necessary. The applicant's information will be kept on file for one year. Should the applicant want to update their materials after one year; a new and updated application will be required at that time.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Transfer disciplines require a minimum of a master's degree with 18 graduate hours in the discipline. Developmental Ed. disciplines require a Bachelor's degree to teach. Career and special interest courses (not for transfer) require: Associate degree, certificate, or licensure at the level being taught and 3 years of related work experience may be substituted for a baccalaureate degree.

Spanish Requires: Master's degree in Spanish language or literature.

English as a Second Language Requires: Master's in TESL/TEFL/TESOL, or Master's in another field and 18 graduate hours in TESL/TEFL/TESOL.

American Sign Language Requires: "Master's degree in one of the following: Teaching American Sign Language (ASL), Teaching ASL as a Foreign Language, Sign Language Education, Deaf Studies, ASL Interpreting, Sign Language Studies, ASL Linguistics, Deaf Education, or a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline. A successful candidate must be fluent in ASL. To prove fluency in ASL, the Master's degree must include a minimum of 9 graduate credits in American Sign Language expressive and receptive skills. Alternatively, a candidate can have national certification (CDI or NIC) from Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) to prove fluency in ASL." American Sign Language Preferred: American Sign Language Teaching Certification from ASLTA.
