Job Title: ELL Campus Facilitator Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

Reports to: Building Principal/Bilingual-ESL Director Pay Grade: Teacher Pay Scale

Primary Purpose:
  • Provide ELL students with appropriate learning activities, experiences and second language support in small group pull-out.
  • Provide resources, strategies, and classroom support to campus teachers to improve the instruction and progress of ELL students.
  • Collaborate with the LPAC administrator to ensure compliance with LPAC processes and maintenance of documentation.
Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate, with required endorsements for subject/level assigned

Valid Texas ESL certification/ESL supplement

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of subjects assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of second language acquisition skills and strategies

General knowledge of TAC Chapter 89: Adaptations for Special Populations

Experience:

Classroom experience with ELLs

LPAC experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Recommend/Coach appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles, language proficiencies, and needs of ELL students.

Review ELL student assessment data and use results to support instruction and learning in the content classroom and when providing interventions for ELL students in small group pull-out setting.

Attend and participate in Bilingual/ESL Department meetings and professional development, faculty meetings, and Professional Learning Communities.

Work with other members of the Bilingual/ESL Dept. and campus to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods in accordance with district requirements and provide teacher support as requested/needed.

Monitor the progress of ELL students on a regular basis and provide student and teacher support as needed.

Assist campus LPAC Coordinator with LPAC training, procedures, and paperwork.

Participate in decision-making and administrations of state-mandated assessments.

Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.

Serve as mentor/support to student and teachers by working with small intervention groups and/or teachers to provide resources and strategies.

Work cooperatively with special education teachers to modify curricula as needed for special education according to guidelines established in Individual Education Plans (IEP).

Employ the use of technologies during interventions and during district/campus professional development.

Be a positive role model for students and colleagues; support the mission of the school district.

Establish and maintain open lines of communication by conducting conferences and trainings with students, parents, principals and teachers.

Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies relating to the ESL program.

Follow and be familiar with TAC Chapter 89 Subchapter BB guidelines regarding ELLs and Section 6 of Student Attendance Accounting Handbook to ensure compliance with state-required programs and procedures.
