ELI Instructional Staff - PT Limited Term
Job Summary
This position will be responsible for preparation and delivery of lesson plans and routine ELI classroom instruction. Will work with a diverse group of people, communicate effectively, work under minimal supervision and under deadline pressures.
This position is limited term with an anticipated employment term of up to 12 months.
Responsibilities
• Instruct students in English as a Second Language according to the ELI curriculum.
• Evaluate ELI students' progress in attendance and learning, assigning grades in a timely fashion based on progress.
• Provide learning guidance and feedback to ELI students.
• Ensure safety and policy requirements are met in the instructional areas.
• Develop and maintain materials, assessments, and course records to support the ELI program.
• Help to promote the ELI program in the community.
• Other job-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
• 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in ESL, English, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
• At least 1 year prior relevant ESL teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
• Graduate Degree
• Master's Degree or equivalent in ESL, English, Applied Linguistics, or related field.
• Three or more years directly related prior ESL teaching experience.
• TESL/ESL teaching certification.
• Teaching experience in higher education.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
• Demonstrated excellent written and spoken English proficiency.
• Demonstrated ability to work with linguistically and culturally diverse students and staff colleagues.
