Under the direction of the Director, English Language and Communication develop and manage syllabus materials. Coordinate courseware and curriculum with the academic department chair. Facilitate class instruction and evaluate student performance. This is a part-time position. The English Language Communication Program of Stevens Institute of Technology has multiple adjunct openings in our English Language and Communication (ELC) department for the following courses:

ELC 71-Language and Communication in Academic Contexts

ELC 81-Writing and Speaking for Academic Purposes I

ELC 91-Writing and Speaking for Academic Purposes II

The English Language and Communication program is designed to improve English language proficiency, focusing on academic writing, presentations, and pronunciation. Qualified candidates should have a master's degree in Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field with ELC certification and at least 1 -2 years of teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Under this appointment, your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining the course syllabus, teaching assigned classes, attending all class sessions, grading and providing appropriate feedback to students, scheduling office hours, completing all assessment requirements, and attending at least one orientation meeting. You will also be required to provide your students with a comprehensive course syllabus before the start of the semester. The syllabus should include all course requirements, grading policy, assignments, expected exams, and required reading. You will provide us with your textbook order in time for materials to arrive well before the first week of classes. Finally, you will be required to adhere to the policies as stated in the faculty handbook. Online applications are required at https://stevens.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com.
