The Voyageur Academy family is seeking a motivated and engaging ESL Paraprofessional. This position will support our students via small group pull-outs.

Major Responsibilities & Duties:
  1. Gather, organize, and interpret assessment data on ESL identified students.
  2. Utilize best practice instructional strategies and research-based intervention curriculum materials to meet the learning needs of identified ESL students.
  3. Model the use of intervention strategies, through their use in the classroom, to general and special education teachers.
  4. Analyze existing student achievement data and administer student assessment and progress monitoring instruments as needed to aid in progress monitoring of ESL.
  5. Serve on the building level ESL team and participate in weekly ESL meetings and data analysis meetings. Provide leadership for these meetings in collaboration with the building administrator.
  6. Collaborate with classroom teachers, building administrator, and parents when designing the ESL interventions.
  7. Utilize feedback provided by adminstration and ESL Teacher to adjust interventions as needed.
  8. Maintain accurate student records, parent communications records and student progress data reports as required by Title I law and district policy.
  9. Attend professional development opportunities that promote improved instructional strategies and support researched-based resource material needed to implement the intervention program successfully and support/maintain professional growth.
  10. Follow district guidelines and policies.
  11. Maintain proper professional conduct as defined in the TRG Staff Handbook.
  12. Promote a positive, caring climate that is highly conducive for teaching and learning.
  13. Perform other duties as deemed appropriate and assigned by the Building Administrator.
  14. Keep in confidence all personal, student, or personnel records and information.
  15. Must follow the schedule provided by DOI with fidelity.
