General Description
Niagara County Community College has a need for a part time instructor to teach German courses within the Humanities & Social Services division. This position will be responsible for teaching students throughout the academic year and will also be responsible for attending meetings as requested.
These classes are typically three lecture hours per week during days and/or evenings. They can be face-to-face, face-to-face enhanced with a Zoom option, asynchronous online, blended synchronous on Zoom, hyflex (face-to-face, synchronous Zoom, and asynchronous online), and hybrid (in-person and online). Regardless of the modality, the selected candidate would need to be available to report in person on campus when needed.
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2pm - 3:15pm on either the NCCC's main campus in Sanborn, NY, or the Niagara Falls Culinary Institute in Niagara Falls, NY. Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus even if teaching online or at NFCI .
Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $884 per lecture hour/$792 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, Niagara County Community College will accept applications on a continuous basis. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in German or a Master's Degree in TESOL /Education
Desirable Qualifications
- PhD, ED, or ABD in Education;
- 2 years of previous teaching experience;
- experience teaching college courses, particularly in a community college.
