Part-time Contracted ESOL / Digital Literacy Instructor
$25.00 per hour / 5 hours per week / 4 recurring 8-week sessions
(1 year contract with possible extension)
The Community Builders, Inc. (TCB) at Plumley Village is seeking a part-time ESOL / Digital Literacy Instructor for a one-year contracted position teaching Conversational English and Computer Basics to adults 18 years and older. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall design and implementation of ESOL and digital literacy lessons encompassing computing fundamentals, key software applications, internet usage, as well as computer safety. Instruction will move at a level and pace that meets the needs of the individual learners and will be divided into quarterly 8-week cohorts. Students are not required to be COVID vaccinated but those who are not will be required to wear a mask. The ESOL/Digital Literacy Instructor reports to the Community Life Senior Manager and collaborates with other Community Life staff and local partners.

Responsibilities
- Design and implement conversational English lessons and activities
- Design and implement a basic digital literacy lessons and activities
- Prepare weekly lesson plans and supplemental class materials
- Instruct adult learners in small groups and one-on-one
- Conduct assessments of participant progress and create reports with results
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, assessment, surveys, data, etc.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
- TESOL certified
- 2 years of ESOL teaching experience required
- Advanced computer user knowledge required
- Participate in technology trainings as needed for funding
- Experience with multi-cultural adult learners
- Ability to interpret and use data to inform instruction
