Essential Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of classroom practicum teaching experience
• Native or near-native English language proficiency
• Undergraduate degree in teaching in the field of instruction (e.g., TESOL, foreign language teaching degree, and/or any related field), OR:
• Undergraduate degree with reputable TESOL certification

In the event that a teacher does not meet these minimum requirements, an employee may be hired on a provisional basis, contingent on having all the above requirements met within a reasonable timeframe determined on a case-by-case basis.

Overview & Duties

ESOL Teachers are tasked with delivering high-quality English language instruction to students of a diverse range of backgrounds and abilities.

Workload

Teachers are assigned teaching assignments by shift (morning or evening), which includes 18 hours of instruction and 2 hours of paid planning time (20 hours per week). Teachers are paid hours worked plus the 2 hours of planning time. Part-time teachers work one shift and may, from time to time, pick up private lessons and other assignments; full-time teachers work two shifts

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay rate: $21.00 to $24.00 based on qualifications and experience
• Three-day weekends
• Paid school holidays
• Five weeks of paid vacation per year (1 in Spring, 1 in Summer, 1 in Fall 2 in Winter)
• Liberty Language Academy contributes $20.00 towards insurance plans from AFLAC portfolio ( obtaining the insurance is entirely voluntary )
