Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada, actively maintains a pool of qualified individuals to be selected from on an as needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs.
TMCC Adult Basic Education teachers instruct adult learners from beginning to advanced levels of English proficiency in preparation for post-secondary professional and academic pursuits. The program requires dynamic, engaging instructors with excellent communication skills.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education or closely related field from an accredited institution.

Salary Information: $23- $41.50 an hour.
Conditions of Employment
This is an on-going pool of qualified individuals interested in part-time, temporary non-tenure track instructional opportunities at Truckee Meadows Community College.
These opportunities are part-time only and will not be continued beyond the ending date. These opportunities may be terminated at will, at any time, for any reason, without notice; appointee has no appeal rights. Temporary assignments are not eligible for consideration for tenure as part of the assignment.

- Using and developing a variety of effective teaching techniques and assessment methods (including exams) to support the rigorous program.
- Evaluating student oral presentations, projects, and written work using criteria relevant to the course content and learning objectives.
- Maintaining and submitting accurate records to meet published deadlines (i.e., syllabi, attendance).
- Communicating and working cooperatively with colleagues on matters regarding course offerings, programs, and activities that enhance the development of the ABE program.
- Meeting professional development requirements.
- Attending faculty meetings.
- Adhering to the prescribed curriculum and standards.
