QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Valid teaching certificate
  • TESOL Endorsement

  • Building Principal

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Evaluates, instructs and improves English proficiency using proven, research based instructional practices
  • Experience administering the OELPA
  • Knowledgeable of State and federal requirements
  • Implements programs of study
  • Provides evaluation and testing for non-English speaking and limited proficiency
  • Provides instruction to each ESL/LEP student appropriate to his/her level as determined by formal
  • Provides periodic written reports to parents of ESL/LEP students in regard to child's progress.
  • Provides referral to existing guidance and counseling as well as other support resources within the district where
  • Provides assessment for newly arriving non-English speaking
  • Confers with classroom teachers regarding each student's program and provides content area teachers with strategies for working with English Language learners.
  • Participates in in-service and teacher training provided by the
  • Meets with ESL Coordinator at regular
  • Provides support and resource information classroom
  • Assist testing coordinators in the planning and implementing of state standardized tests.
  • Fosters an inclusive classroom climate conducive to learning that is consistent with both district and building goals
  • Utilizes instructional and behavioral management systems that increase student learning
  • Monitors student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives
  • Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
  • Meets professional responsibilities
  • Demonstrates accurate and current knowledge in subject area
  • Differentiates instruction to promote achievement for all students
  • Leverages district curriculum maps and Common Instruction Map in instructional planning
  • Follows established discipline procedures
  • Encourages students' attendance
  • Sets high positive expectations for the performance of all students
  • Implements concepts of PBIS consistently and with fidelity
  • Prepares and implements lesson plans to teach instructional objectives
  • Follows grading policies and procedures, and maintains accurate and complete student records
  • Follows confidentiality procedures regarding students, parents/guardians, and fellow staff members
  • Adheres to established federal, state, District and Board laws, policies, rules, and regulations

Contract days: 184 days

Salary: In accordance with established salary schedule
