To create and deliver face-to-face and online professional development workshops and resources in support of district initiatives and the goals of the district Academic Master Plan. Creates and manages professional learning networks in both face-to-face and online settings. Supports the work of Teacher Support Specialists and Teacher Leader Facilitators.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Design face-to-face and online, content-based professional development for district curricular programs and initiatives using best practices in adult learning theory.
- Deliver face-to-face content-based professional development that is available on a flexible and repeating schedule at a district location.
- Collaborate with team to develop and maintain digital professional learning network systems that:
- Provide online learning pathways for individual study
- Provide content-based online resources for schools, teams, and individuals that are communicated to all teachers clearly and continually
- Collaborate with team to regularly gather feedback and analyze needs for PD across the district.
- Collaborate with and provide professional development resources to the Teacher Support Specialists.
- Attend monthly meetings with Teacher Support Specialists to refine and improve PD offerings.
- Co-plan quarterly meetings with Teacher Support Specialists which are attended by Teacher Leader Facilitators to ascertain and support PD needs/issues at the building level across the district.
- Evaluate and monitor all components of PD support including face-to face and online sessions
- Collaborate with SAPR and schools to evaluate the impact of professional learning system on student achievement and professional practice
- Report on online analytics to analyze use of the online resources.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Extensive written and oral communication skills.
- Full understanding of current content in specified areas and pedagogy.
- Experience in creating professional development with a strong grasp of emotional, cognitive and motivational needs of adult learners.
- Experience in use of technology as an integrated instructional and professional learning component.
- Experience in professional development delivery in a variety of settings.
- Ability to stay highly organized and to manage and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong initiative and ability to work autonomously with little direct supervision.
- Reflective and flexible working style, with a strong desire to learn and accept new challenges.
- Ability to work cooperatively and receive feedback from professional staff members.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Current New Mexico Level III license
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed
