This is a high school teaching position in Allied Health, which is a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program. The Allied Health program is a series of prescribed courses for grades 9-12 that provides a strong foundation in the health sciences. Participation in Allied Health prepares students for a variety of careers in healthcare and students may be eligible to obtain certifications and internships in many of the areas of Allied Health (e.g., Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Radiology, Nurse Assistant, etc.). Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) is also an integral part of student success in Allied Health.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in a Health Occupation.
- Vocationally Certified Teacher/Educator who holds a license in an area of allied health preferred or meets the qualifications for an annual authorization.
- Experience in allied health field and knowledge of providing direct patient care and/or health care service.
- Four years' occupational experience in a health field.
- Experience with technology/multi-media approach to teaching and learning.
- Ability and desire to work in a multicultural setting.
- Other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator.

- Provide rigorous and relevant instruction on pre-approved hands-on curriculum in the content area and general work-place readiness.
- Integrate soft-skill instruction into competency-based content area activities. Support students in industry relevant competitions, industry exploration activities, professional organizations and postsecondary initiatives.
- Show evidence of project-based learning (e.g., competitions, capstone events, etc.) Collaborate with core content teachers on common course planning, integration and alignment.
- Collaborate with school-based staff (college and career coach, counselor, etc.) and CTE Partnership Development Liaisons and Program Coordinators to identify and recommend work- ready students.
- Attend all relevant professional development set by the Department of Early College and Career Education in order to provide the best educational experience possible for students. Examples include; Quarterly industry-focused PD sessions, Industry advisory council meetings.
- Evaluates academic and social growth of students, keeps appropriate records, and maintains instructional materials.
- Identifies student needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems.
- Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and/or professional growth activities and university courses.
- Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities.
