Position: ESOL Lecturer (Part-Time Permanent Contract- 0.5 - 17.5 hours per week

Salary: £25,250-£37,533 (pro-rata)

September 2023 start for new academic year

As an ESOL Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and effective English language instruction to our adult learners. You will have the opportunity to work with individuals from various cultural backgrounds, helping them develop their language skills and empower them to integrate into the local community and succeed in their personal and professional lives.

Responsibilities:

* Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic and interactive ESOL lessons tailored to the needs and abilities of adult learners.
* Utilize a variety of teaching methods and materials to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
* Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support for individual learning needs.
* Create and implement effective lesson plans and learning activities that promote language acquisition, fluency, and cultural understanding.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the ESOL curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching techniques and resources.
* Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievement, and assessments.
* Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, encouraging student participation and active learning.
* They will also manage and deliver the Trinity Certificate TESOL - Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages

Requirements:

* Relevant qualifications in TESOL or a related field.
* First degree or Level 6 professional qualification
* A recognised teaching qualification for FE
* A specialist qualification for teaching ESOL or Literacy
* Experience teaching ESOL to adult learners, preferably in a further education setting.
* Strong knowledge of English language acquisition theories, teaching methodologies, and assessment strategies.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the curriculum.
* A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
