The specialist in applied linguistics designs, prepares, and teaches English language courses in a variety of linguistic skill areas for a university English for Academic Purposes program. The specialist creates new course materials within the ELC program framework, using a variety of instructional methods, to engage, guide and assess students. Additionally, the specialist assists in providing a socially engaging cross-cultural environment by participating in student advising, orientation and cultural events. The specialist maintains an active professional development portfolio. NOTE: The specialist position is a 12-month position, as RIT ELC offers summer courses.
