Upward Academy is a workforce education program inside Tyson Foods facilities that offers frontline workers free English + digital literacy classes. Instructors for this program teach onsite, face-to-face classes inside the Tyson facilities. These classes have Responsibilities include:
- 9 Instructional hours per week in a Tyson facility teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and/or English for Specific Purposes (ESP) courses for frontline team members
- Materials development associated with courses taught
- Attendance at Upward Academy partner meetings
- Attendance at all faculty meetings and trainings
- Attendance at recruitment events and culminating activities
