Special Education Teacher

We are currently seeking an experienced Special Education Teachers for K-5th grade levels for the 22-23 school year.

Qualifications:

• Master's degree preferred
• Dual certification in Special Education and/or ESL/Bilingual Extension/TESOL preferred
• Demonstrated effective classroom management techniques, incorporating principles of character education, ethics, and student accountability
• Being bilingual in Spanish a plus
• Minimum of 3 years of successful full-time classroom teaching experience in a culturally diverse, urban environment
• Experience developing and executing lesson plans aligned to the New York State Common Core Standards
• Familiarity with Singapore math and Core Knowledge Language Arts curricula strongly preferred but not mandatory
• Ability to identify students' challenges to learning, implement timely and consistent RTIs, and work collaboratively to address the cognitive, social, and emotional well-being of students
• Data-Driven: Ongoing quantitative and qualitative data analysis, record keeping, and progress monitoring of student learning

• Willingness to engage in the school's professional learning community; commitment to being at the top of the profession through active participation in collegial dialogues, book studies, planning sessions, and professional development opportunities designed to deepen content knowledge
