Job Description:

The Department of English at WKU invites applications for a tenure track eligible Assistant Professor position in Linguistics and TESOL.

Responsibilities:Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses primarily in linguistics, language acquisition theories, and second language pedagogy,notablyinESL teachereducationcourses,as well as Englishgeneraleducation compositioncourses;maintainingan activescholarlyagenda;and participatingin universityand departmentalservice.

Requirements:

PhDin linguistics, applied linguistics, second language acquisition, TESOL, or a related area. Candidate must demonstrate excellence inand commitmentto undergraduateand graduateeducation, in both face-to-face and online classrooms; demonstrateteaching ability in linguistics, primarily syntax, largely within teacher education programs;display an enthusiasm forteaching and mentoring college students, particularly first-generation students; provide arecord of and/or plan forscholarly,professional, and service activities appropriate for a teaching-centered institution.
