Job Description:

The Department of Teacher Education at the College of Mount Saint Vincent seeks talented professionals to serve as clinical field supervisors in the graduate teacher education programs. Clinical supervisors play a critical role in the guidance and development of the teacher candidate. Supervisors are needed for the MS TESOL program and the initial certification programs in Dual Early Childhood, Dual Childhood Education and Dual Adolescent Education.


  • Required attendance at the orientation meeting
  • Ability to attend seminars as needed
  • Maintain consistent communication with teacher candidate, seminar leader, and mentor teacher throughout the semester
  • Conduct informal and formal visits to observe teacher candidate
  • Communicate with the mentor teacher to discuss teacher candidate progress and/or concerns
  • Hold pre and post observation meetings with teacher candidate
  • Submit evaluation forms
  • Respond to emails from faculty or mentors in a timely manner
  • Model appropriate professional dispositions required of teacher candidates


  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in teaching or school administration
  • A Master's degree in the content area of supervision (TESOL, Childhood Education, Special Education or Adolescent Education)
  • A teaching certificate in the content area of supervision
