An EAL Teacher is required in the Warwickshire area to begin working with vulnerable children. Many of these children are refugees, and as a result it is important that you are an EAL Teacher with excellent communication skills, high levels of patience and compassion and a passion for enthusing young people with a real love of language. The main goals of your sessions will be to improve the communicative ability of your pupils in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. As an EAL Teacher, you will be working with small classes of pupils with the support of a teaching assistant. The role requires that you have a full UK driver's licence and your own vehicle, as you will need to travel to various locations in the Warwickshire County for your lessons.As an EAL Teacher, you will be planning and delivering lessons specifically tailored to the level of ability of the pupils in your class. This will vary, as the ages of the children range from 5 - 18, so it is important that you are competent at differentiating work to a challenging yet achievable level. The ideal EAL Teacher will plan their lessons to be as fun and creative as possible in order to maximise the engagement of the pupils. Due to the difficult background of many of the children, it is important that you are consistently providing trauma-informed care and are aware of the additional support that the young people in your class will require. As the EAL Teacher, it is your responsibility to liaise with all involved in the progress of the pupils, including external agencies and schools. You will need to monitor the progress and alter your lesson plans accordingly. For this role you must either have QTS or a TEFL qualification, sauch as the CELTA.The EAL Teacher role:
- Planning and delivering EAL lessons to pupils of various ability aged 5-18
- Teaching listening, speaking, reading, and writing in English
