Job Details
This is a scholarship program in Taiwan.
The award provides qualified TEFL teachers or professors with the opportunity to spend one year as TEFL and/or bilingual education professional advisors of the Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETA) program. Advisors work with the American ETAs and their Taiwanese counterparts, local English teachers (LETs).
FSE TESOL/TEFL advisors are primarily responsible for facilitating the professional development of Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs) and local English teachers (LETs) across the program’s 13 sites in Taiwan. With support from local staff and professors at each site, TEFL and Bilingual Education advisors lead workshops about teaching techniques, language acquisition, and related topics for ETAs and LETs who work in elementary and junior high schools, and universities.
As language teaching professionals, Fulbright’s TEFL advisors enhance the ETAs and LETs’ professional expertise through site visits, observations, consultations, and coordination. Through supervising these outstanding American and Taiwanese English teachers, advisors contribute and enhance the English Teaching environment in Taiwan. In cooperation with local universities, they also have the chance to enrich their research and teaching experiences.
The award period is starting from now to June 30th 2023. With Selection Committee approval, renewal for a second and final 11 months may be considered. In some situations/locations, immediate positions may be available as well.
